Some time ago, I was required to attend a training program for work in Madrid. The Madrid Book Fair held every year in Retiro Park took place at the same time; I was so exciting to have the opportunity to go there! This is one of the most traditional cultural events in the capital. The Booksellers' Association that organized the event represented over 200 book stores from all over the Madrid region. There were the latest publications along with a selection of recommended titles for all kinds of readers and special discounts at the fair. It was also a great chance to get well-known writers to sign their work.

As you can imagine I walked between the stands by hours and I bought a bunch of great books and there was a very special book for my children: PRESS HERE By Hervé Tullet. This is an extremely creative and interactive picture book.

Starting with a yellow dot and some basic instructions, Little I. presses the dots, shakes the pages, and tilts the book, giving him the illusion that he has control over what happens.

The adventure occurs on the flat surface of the simple, printed page. This picture book is about the power of imagination!

PRESS HERE By Hervé Tullet has sold 700 thousand copies so far, and remains on the New York Times children’s bestseller list after 86 weeks

Hervé Tullet is a very popular children's author in France, earning the title of "The Prince of Preschool. Congrats and thanks a lot, Mr. Tullet!

Once upon a time: classic fairy tales

Today Little I. has chosen our classic fairy tales:
· Hansel and Gretel (German, Brothers Grimm)
· Wolf and the seven little kids (German, Brothers Grimm)
· Goldilocks and the three bears (British, Robert Southey)
· Jack and the beanstalk (British, Benjamin Tabart)



His favorite book is Hansel and Gretel – I think he loves this book because Little I. believes himself to be Hansel and his sister is Gretel! I love this book collection because there are interactive books - lift the flap, textures, pop-ups, scratch and sniff...many elements on each page!!!







Although Little I. doesn’t know read, I've read these fairy tales so many times that he can tell you the stories.



Today I’ve brought a couple of new titles for his lovely collection “The master cat; or, puss in boots (French, Charles Perrault)” and “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (Arabic, Antoine Galland)”but he doesn’t know it, I love seeing the happy surprise on his little face!

Once upon a time: guess how much i love you

I love reading books. Truth be told, I have always been a reader for as long as I can remember. At first, reading was the perfect excuse to avoid going to sleep but I fell without realizing it. My parent introduced me to my love as they encouraged me to start reading books by bringing home a different book for me every week. I’m really grateful for allowing me the privilege of discovering so different worlds and living so many lives so I want let my children do the same.

I'd like to introduce a new section on my blog that is “Once upon a time” through which I will show you my favorite children's books with my 5 years old daughter (Little S.) and my 3 years old son (Little I.) expert
advice!

Today, Little I. has chosen “Guess How Much I Love You”, written by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram. The story of Little and Big Nutbrown. Little Nutbrown Hare wants very much to impress Big Nutbrown Hare with the enormous scale of his devotion, but ends up being the one who's impressed. We’ve got a pop-up edition in miniature.



A sweet story what perfectly expresses the parent’s love. I enjoy reading it every night before my children go to bed.
