Dandelions ready for wishing

Some days ago we went to the park and we founded a lot of dandelions ready for whising. Little S. and Little I. were fascinated. While they were picking a bunch of dandelions and blowing them together, I looked at them and thought that really is the simple things in life that bring out the joy in a child.

Kid-Friendly Recipe - Nashi Pie

While Little I. napped the other day, Little S. and me made a nashi pie. My grandparents gave us some nashies from the fruit trees they plant in their garden. Nashi is also known as the Chinese pear, skin feels slightly rough like a pear, rather than smooth like an apple. I love cooking with her.

She used a kid-friendly knive to cut nashi into tiny pieces, transferred pastry to pie plate, added filling and mascarpone cheese…she was so happy when she put the pie in the oven!

World's Greatest Dad

My husband works away all week and although it’s hard sometimes, it’s just the way it’s. He comes home on Friday late pm, and when dad walks through the door from work Little S. and Little I. get butterflies when they see him. They have a wonderful relationship with him. The time he has with them is short but precious. He spends as much time as he can with them and makes it quality, loving time. He is a fantastic person, loving caring, understanding, generous, and fun. They think he is the world's greatest dad and I know they are right.

Town Day

The last weekend was the celebration of the Town Day and the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the protector of the town, every year includes a wide range of religious, entertainment and sports events as well as a traditional fair.

We started the Saturday morning off watching the parade in the main street.

Little S. and Little I. loved forest-themed float which included gnomes and fairies.

image

Then we watched a free children's magic show in the main street. My children were fascinated with the wide array of tricks. They love magic because the really believe in the probability that magic is real!

We had some friends over for lunch at our home. So many beautiful people, cute babies and lots of fun!

image

Early evening we took children to a vintage circus spectacle with clown shows, acrobats, jugglers, unicyclist acts and musicians playing musical saw, my kiddos absolutely LOVED this event!

image

We went to the county fair and we could check out the different rides and attractions until nightfall.

image

Then we went to the river's shore to watch the fireworks. Little I. was so scared... his grandma picked him up!

Lifelong restaurant

It was Friday night and we went out to dinner. We stumbled into a lifelong restaurant and is immediately transported to my own childhood. I shake my head at all those food tastes or smells (I found tomatoes that taste like tomatoes!). I love you husband. Thanks for a wonderful night out.
